Little Debbie Does SmartCar
Little Debbie is rolling out an army of Smart Fortwo’s in order to promote their tasty brand of junk food. They began appearing in major cities several months ago, rolling in the bike lanes with trunks full of yummy cakes & coupons. Now we know the true nature of their visits.
The brand is launching a new cupcake and, much to our clogged arteries content, a 125,000 carton cupcake giveaway, a mobile tour, a Twitter feed, a YouTube channel, a Flickr photostream, event marketing, TV spots and blog posts (ahem, want to send me some cupcakes Little Debbie??) and the giving away of two Smartcars. From October 11 through December 12, a truck filled with branded Smart cars will stop in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, Manchester, NH, Hartford, CT, Scranton, PA, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix and Los Angeles.
“Our goal was to create a bigger-than-life campaign that could be leveraged across every medium imaginable,” says Luckie & Co. Executive Vice President/Creative Director Brad White. “Who could resist a Smart Car wrapped like a Little Debbie Cupcake? Come to think of it, who could resist a Little Debbie Cupcake?”
I have seen your ad on TV and think it is great. I don’t know what you want written. But, I just had my car reop-ed because my wife lost her job. I haven’t been able to pay our house payment for over a year. The IRS has attacted my paycheck. But I do know that when my wife and I go shopping I treat myself to a little debbie. Its not to often I can, but the little debbie treats still have the great taste I have been use to for many years.
THESE LIL CAKES ARE A BLESSING. I HAVE A SWEET TOOTH THAT CRAVES THEM. I CAN HAVE A CAKE AND GET THE SATISAFATION FROM IT WITHOUT OVER EATING. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE HOLIDAY CAKES. I GAVE UP MY CAR WHEN WE GAVE UP OUR HOUSE, AND I AM IN NEED OF A CAR BAD. THIS IS THE CUTIEST CAR I HAVE EVER SEEN, I CAN JUST PICTURE MYSELF IN ONE. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
We host a big event on the 2nd Saturday in August in South Eastern Idaho. We are 2 hours from Yellowstone Park. This draws from several States and is an outdoor car show and day of events. It is on the 14th of August this year and involves about 20,000 people. Is there any chance in the world we could get the Little Debbies Semi or Smart cars coming through. We would love to have you as part of our event. I realize that to be a stretch but we could do big publicity to have you here.
